The purpose of this study is to examine the teaching that increases the students' understanding about the nature of science (NOS) in general education at a technology university. The teaching content focuses mainly on the history of science while taking the human culture history as subsidiary, and emphasized the development of science which has an influence on society and technology. The participants were the students in the Continuing Education program. Interviews and questionnaires were utilized to study the responses of the participants. We can understand whether students will change their views about the nature of science after the teaching. The findings as follows. First, the teaching can enhance the students' understanding of the nature of scientific knowledge and scientific inquiry. Second, the students have a positive attitude toward the teaching. |
