Background: Health education is an important factor in disease management. Purpose: This study aimed to understand the health education needs of outpatients and to further explore the effectiveness of an e-learning model. Methods: This study used “questionnaire” data as we sampled 411 people during a two month period. Research subjects included outpatients and family members in awaiting area. We supplied health education with an e-learning approach consisting of concept introduction and practical application. Finally, a professional interviewer surveyed some outpatients. Results: We found that patient age and education significantly influenced their health education needs, and most patients had positive feelings about e-learning. Conclusion: There are different needs among diverse patients, and this study suggests that an e-learning model is an excellent approach toward archiving the goal of health promotion and disease prevention. |
