This article analyzes the genre of the introduction and conclusion of 90research papers on Japanese humanities, especially. Japanese linguistics, literature, society and culture, published in Chinese core journals on foreign language studies during 2000-2013. This article reveals that the typical discursive patterns of the introductory moves of these research papers in Chinese journals include: [A) description of the research object and background-> C) statement of the research purposes and outline]. Besides, the pattern that includes both [A) description of the research object and background-> B) discussion of previous studies-> C) statement of the research purposes and outline] is also very common. So is the pattern that only includes A). Compared with those of Japanese journal papers, the prefaces of Chinese journal articles tend to be more goal-oriented and simplified. Also, the emergence rate of Move B showed significant difference in different fields. Moreover, althoughthere is no typical discursive pattern in conclusions, these research papers relies on language performance and other strategies echoing the introduction, which effectively maintain the overall logic of the research papers. Therefore, this article is of great value in enriching the study of the preface genre of academic papers on Japanese humanities. It also provides a theoretical basis for the supervision of the graduation theses of Japanese major. |
