土耳其的地緣戰略位置經由地中海盆地的海上交通線交會處連接了歐洲、亞洲、巴爾幹、高加索、中東、地中海和黑海等地區國家，掌控了高加索和中亞地區石油、天然氣輸往西方的一條重要運輸路線，以及擁有一支地區甚至歐洲質與量均十分強大的三軍武力，對地區的穩定與和平扮演舉足輕重的關鍵角色，近年來由於土耳其經濟力量逐次提升，更突顯了她成為地區甚至歐洲要角的重要性。

Turkey controls a critical route for transporting petroleum and natural gas from Caucasus and Central Asia to the Western countries. Furthermore, it possesses powerful armed forces in both terms of quantity and quality of the region and Europe, they play a significant role in maintain the stability and peace in the region. In recent years, Turkey’s economy is rising, so that its influence in the region and even in Europe has become more remarkable.
