Chinese Nationalism

我們先將簡單介紹民族及民族主義等基本概念本身、解釋民族出現的理論、以及民族產生的模式。接著，我們將考察馬克斯及列寧如何看待馬列主義與民族主義的關係，再來回顧民族主義在中國的發展，然後探究中國共產黨如何面對民族主義，接著以國際定位、少數民族、以及收回故土等三個面向，來觀察中國改革開放以來的新民族主義，最後，在結論之前，我們將檢視習近平的民族認同觀。

We start with a brief introduction of the concepts of nation and nationalism, theories of nationalism, and modes of nation-building. We then look into how Karl Mark and Vladimir Lenin treat the relations between Marxism-Leninism and nationalism. Further, we review how nationalism has evolved in China and how the Chinese Communists have found themselves in this context. In addition we examine the New Chinese Nationalism in three aspects: its international status, treatments of national minorities, and the so-called recovering its lost territories. Finally, we provide for a sketch of Xi Jinping's view of national identity.
