This study is to investigate the work-related protective legislation and regulations for women workers as well as child labor from hazards and dangers in the United Kingdom. The European Community directives- based United Kingdom rules are introduced in this study. The purpose of the principle of equal treatment for men and women is to eliminate sex discrimination at work; the principle of protecting the health and safety of labor is to protect women workers from dangers; and the principle of protecting the child labor is to protect children and young persons as well as to educate them during their training at the same time. Moreover, recommendations are made in this study to improve working conditions for women workers in Taiwan. It is of great value to use the occupational safety standards and regulations developed in the industrialized countries as references. However, it must be pointed out that the industrial development history of Taiwan must be taken into consideration in the draft of new policies or regulations to protect women and child labors from dangers. |
