This study is to compare the performance of indoor-pollutants elimination by different air flow routes in a working room. The numerical simulation was performed using CFD techniques which the standard k-ε turbulence model was adopted. The measured results in the full-scale chamber were obtained to validate the simulated results. The benchmark properties of the ventilation efficiency, such as the concentration of carbon dioxide, the air-change rate (ACH), the age-of-air and the air exchange efficiency (AEE), were calculated to find out the ideal location of the vents. The position of the occupant, meanwhile, was considered in sedentary work. The air-draft phenomina by the various airflow routes were evaluated. Findings of this study will provide the designers a better way toward a healthy and energy-saving approach. |
