Study of Koxinga's Marine Personality

本文主要是探討鄭成功的海洋性格，鄭成功能把當時雄霸東亞的海權實踐者荷蘭人從臺灣趕走，實在具有劃時代意義。究竟如何理解鄭成功的入臺行動？他是否具有海權觀念？如何理解他的海洋性格？鄭成功入臺前如何維持海洋上的活動空間？他的海洋性格如何形成及展現？就是本文探討的重點。本文先從鄭成功的成長過程分析海洋因素的產生與時代背景的關係，並透過十二件事件來分析鄭成功的海洋性格的展現，並從海洋性格走向海權實踐的行為。最後用A.T.馬漢的海權理論來證明鄭成功的海權觀念，與當時的荷蘭人並沒有很大的差異。可惜他的海權王國並未完成，便與世長辭了。

This article is mainly to discuss Koxinga's marine personality. Koxinga had success to expel Dutch from Taiwan. At that time, Dutch was a sea power practitioner in Asia. The action of Koxinga was really an epoch-making significance in the world history. How to understand the actions of Koxinga drove away the Dutch and conquered Taiwan. Did he have sea power idea? How to understand his marine personality? Before he conquered Taiwan, how Koxinga to maintain the activities on the ocean? How did his marine personality formation and reveal? That was the focus of this paper. Firstly, the text was to analyze the formulation of the marine factors and relations of the Koxinga's growth background. Secondly the author analyzed the representing of Koxinga's marine personality through 12 events and proved that he had practiced of sea power from the marine personality. Finally, the author used A.T. Mahan's sea power theory to prove Koxinga's sea power idea with Dutch certainly not very big difference. It was a pity that his sea power kingdom was not complete then he passed away.
