This study adopted the theory of dynamic assessment to develop the computer-based test. By developing the computer-based test tool with multi-media to provide students hints, the test enabled learners to start the on-line learning process if they give the wrong answer during the evaluation. Through computer multi-media, this study developed non-linear and diverse teaching materials to create an asynchronous and interactive environment on the Internet. Learners can learn with their own conveniences and their personal needs. Therefore, the limitations of traditional (in-classroom) teaching, such as the rigidity of timing, the restriction of the location, and the set-up amount of materials can be removed and students' willingness to learn may be enhanced. The construct of computer-based test in dynamic assessment should be explored as the context of English resources in the learning community and should be regarded as an alternative learning way. |
