The purpose of this study was to understand the relationship of fundamental data, emotion experiences and help-seeking attitudes and predict the help-seeking attitude of nurses. Subjects were nurses from one district hospital. 68 valid questionnaires were collected from group or individual test and by purpose sampling. Structure instruments were used that included fundamental data, Beck Anxiety Inventory, Beck Depressive Inventory II and Help-Seeking Attitude Inventory. The data was collected and analyzed by using inferential statistical methods. Results showed that there was significant relationship between age and helping-seeking attitude. The older the nurses were, the better help-seeking attitude they behaved. It also showed more openness attitude among the nurses who had counseling experience to seek professional help. In addition, more professional help seeking needed occurred among the nurses who had depressive tendency. The factor predicting a help-seeking attitude and the openness to seek professional help was age and the interpreted amounts of variance were 14.5% and 12.0%. This study could be a reference of counseling service and guidance for nurses. |
