This study investigated students’life adjustment in supplementary schools. The subjects were 265 students studied in the supplementary schools in Taipei City. A self-made questionnaire was administered to the subjects and the data obtained were statistically treated by chi-square and ANOVA. The main findings of this study were as follows: 1. Entering an ideal college was the main purpose of the students studying in the supplementary schools, so that entrance ratio was the most influencial factor in selecting a supplementary school; 44.53% of the subjects entered the supplementary school through friends’introduction; families offered both financial and mental support. 2. Subjects were satisfied of the teachers and administrators in the supplementary schools, but were unsatisfied of the payments and equipments. 3. The most useful helps supplementary schools could offer were: establishment of students’confidence in learning, teaching the examination techniques and studying methods. But entering supplementary schools had evil effect on physical health and leisure life. The author also made some recommendations to improve the function and management of supplementary schools at the final. |
