中國古代工夫論特別強調眼、耳、意三識,關於意識的轉化與提昇,歷來已備受討論,耳修的部分業已有研究成果,故本文專就眼修論其關楗意義。全文分六節,在鋪陳主題後,第二節勾勒相關子題:「眼識—意識—光明」,第三節申論「眼識—意識」,第四節則探究「眼識—光明」,第五節推導出眼修最核心的關楗意義—太極徼眼,第六節略論眼修所證之能力,並以此代結;各節間之轉折與綰合,又以工夫修養之歷程及其境界貫串其中。本文認為眼識乃是太極之具體而微,座落於身體之太極!而眼識—意識—光明三者緊密相連的根本緣故,即「眼識=太極」。總言之,眼修的關楗意義,正在其「太極徼眼」之本質與內涵,憑藉眼修,將甚易冥契太極,並復返創世根源。Sight, hearing and consciousness are especially emphasized in Gongfu theory in ancient China. These three senses can facilitate the cultivation of Gongfu. It all depends on consciousness no matter which sense we choose to begin with. However, the conversion and enhancement of consciousness have been constantly discussed, and also, there have been some achievements in research on hearing. Thus, the essay aims to discuss the critical meanings of sight.The paper divides into six parts. After the first part explains the major theme, the second draws the outline of the related topic: sight-consciousness-brightness; the third part discusses 'sight-consciousness'; the fourth inquires into 'sight-brightness'; the fifth derives the central meanings of sight: Tai-ji jiao yan (太極徼眼), and the last part briefly talks about the capability of sight and concludes the discussion. The transition and integration between each part rely on the central concern with the progress and stages of Gongfu cultivation.The essay argues that sight is a microcosm of Tai-ji and is Tai-ji manifested within the human's body. And that is the reason sight-consciousness-brightness interconnect so tightly, as visual consciousness is the Tai-ji. In conclusion, the critical meaning of sight is rightly about the nature and content of Tai-ji jiao yan. With the cultivation of sight, we will be easily in harmony with Tai-ji and get back to the genesis of creation. |
