We used a rapid and reliable high-performance liquid chromatographic method for determination of tetraimethylpyrazine in the medicinal herbs of chuanxiong and yujin. the separation was achieved on a Cosmosil 5C18 column (4.6×250 mm, particle size 5μm). the mobile phase consisted of methanol: 50 mM NaH?烈O??(40:60, v/v, pH 3.3 adjusted by orthophosphoric acid) at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. Tetramethylpyrazine was monitored at a wavelength of 280nm. The linear calibration range and detection limit for tetramethylpyrazine was 0.1-5 μg/mL and 10 ng/mL, respectively, It was found that the tetramethylpyrazine was not detected in the Liygusticum chuanxiong HORT. The tetramethylpyrazine contained in n-hexane extract of Curcuma aromatica SALISB was 1.66±0.02 μg/g. |
