英文摘要 |
A cesarean birth is a life-saving intervention for the mother and fetus. It is a major surgical procedure with potential adverse effects, including bleeding, infection, and damage to surrounding organs. In Taiwan, the cesarean birth rate is increasing, which is of major concern for Taiwan’s government and health care providers. A great number of studies have been conducted on this issue, especially of (1) the history and development of cesarean section, (2) contributing factors to the increasing prevalence rate, and (3) the strategies for managing this phenomenon, etc. The aim of this report is to review the literature pertaining to cesarean-related topics. It is hoped that this report can offer useful information to midwives in planning for and evaluating women’s care. Midwives can help women to achieve a safe, comfortable, and satisfying birthing experience. |
