As the ageing index rises in Taiwan, in consideration of the soar of the ageing population and elders’ preferences of ageing living arrangement, 'aging in place' for elders is an urgent issue to the government. Under the existing living environmental structure, a supplementary renovation assessment system for assisting the elders improving their living environment is urgently needed. Therefore, this study aimed to propose elderly living environment renovation decision-making based on the concept of 'aging in place', and used multi-criteria decision-making technique, along with literature review and AHP expert questionnaire survey, to establish an objective and quantified renovation assessment system for elderly living environment. The system was applied to three communities for validation, and was proven that it can be conducive to indoor environmental renovation for elderly living under the concept of 'aging in place', as well as decision-making by the building management committee on the renovation of the building and community environment, and county/city government sectors on urban environmental renovation. |
