Using fire proof interior finish materials in buildings is very effective for fire safety. In Taiwan, CNS 6532 is used to evaluate the fire performance of building materials. Practically, wall lining materials need supporting devices by which the materials can be fixed on a wall or ceiling. However, the influence of the supporting devices on the fire performance of wall lining materials is not assessed. In this study, this influence was investigated experimentally by using ISO 9705 and CNS 12514. Our data show that before the burning through of wall lining materials, the supporting devices did not expose to fire even flashover occurred. On the contrary, after the burning through, the back of wall lining materials will be involved and more heat will be released. In addition, the burning through is not related to the combustibility of material. Moreover, the thicker the material, the later the burning through occurs. |
