Associated with the previous study on the setting of plastic hinge for reinforced concrete beam and column, this paper proposes, further, the setting for the RC wall and the brick wall to accommodate the pushover analysis of the RC buildings with walls. The equivalent structural strut along the diagonal of the frame can be estimated to simulate the action of the RC wall, and its structural nonlinearity can be obtained for sequential pushover analysis. On the other hand, based on the experimental efforts on the brick wall by Prof. Hsu, we develop the setting of plastic hinge for the brick wall. Various different boundaries of the walls can be taken into account and modeled numerically for the use of pushover analysis. An efficient post-processor is developed in transferring the capacity curve and the capacity spectrum obtained from the pushover analysis of the RC buildings into the relationship between the peak ground acceleration (PGA) and the structural displacement response. As a result, the seismic evaluation of the RC buildings can be performed successfully. |
