The main object of this study is to describe when indigenous peoples accept the teaching of agricultural subject and agricultural technology which the colonists promote, and explore the process of knowledge transformation of traditional agriculture. Indigenous peoples learned agricultural knowledge and technology from Japanese colonists, and resulted in the increase in the area of paddy cultivation. In the same time, there still were traditional ritual corps-millet, visible between tradition and modernity coexisted in the tribe. It could not separate the knowledge transformation into new and old style. In order to find the knowledge for tribal development, it needed a long-term practice. |
