Scientific data shows that human activities are the causes of excessive greenhouse gas emissions, which bring about global warming, climate change, and growing threats from disasters which may threaten human survival. The per capita greenhouse gas emissions in Taiwan are considered to be on the high side and buildings are the main source of such growth. This research tackles the issue from the perspective of a building life cycle through both the technical and policy aspects. Relevant policy framework s are constructed through information and data collected from a literature review and expert interviews with reference to policies and cases implemented in foreign countries. Results of the study are then subjected under a test using the Fuzzy Delphi Method for screening. This research developed the whole strategic maps and screened out effective strategies implemented to lower greenhouse gas emissions from buildings and the results can be used as a reference for the responsive planning of strategies and action plans during architectural design, as well as recommendations to the relevant authorities for overall policy planning. |
