In this study, through literature analysis and interviews with experts, 53 key factors for the establishment of community sustainable development were obtained and can be categorized into five aspects, including 'environmental resources and heat island effect', 'community industry development', 'local environmental quality', 'community health and welfare', and 'community management'. Then these 53 key factors were used for the analysis and discussion of a rural community, the 'Golden Town' in Miao- Li. The result showed that these five aspects are equally important to the sustainable development of the 'Golden Town'. However, among them, 'community management' is rather more important. Important-Performance Analysis (I.P.A.) was applied to this study to explore the problems of sustainable development the 'Golden Town' will have to face in the future. Suggestions such as enhancing community characteristics, brining in energy-saving equipment, expanding applications of reusable energy, improving conservation of community landscape and ecology, and aggressively developing the sense of communities were proposed as references of strategies for sustainable community development of the 'Golden Town'. |
