This study developed a multizone ventilation model TAIVENT to calculate the air exchange rate for typical residential buildings in Taiwan. The ventilation model is based on the mass conservation and orifice equation to calculate the wind-driven ventilation. The weather data (wind speed, wind direction, air temperature and humidity) from the Central Weather Bureau were analyzed and used for the model. The pressure distributions around a rectangular building under various wind directions were measured by wind tunnel experiments and interpolated by a two-dimensional cubic-spline method. Besides, the TAIVENT model uses the Newton-Raphson method to calculate the room pressures and flow rates through each openings. |
