Media has been acknowledged as a role to promote female outstanding performance on sports field; on the other hand, their prominent achievements may appear invisible due to being distorted. The primary purpose of this study was to explore how internet media view and describe performances between male and female on sports field, coupled with analyze the relationship between media and female. The researcher found that new media pay more attention on female performance on sports field, which traditional media had tendency to ignore and marginalize them in various ways. The result implied that different from traditional media, characteristics of new media reports has been promoted and deemed as a role of changing people stereotypes toward female athletes performance on sports field, which only strengthen female athletes' self-cognition and identity, but guide audiences with a brand new perspective while viewing female sports athletes. |
