As the passage of Gender Equity Education Act, the issues related to homosexuality and sport participation became an important topic in sport and physical education as well. The purpose of this study was to review upon academic studies of LGBT in sport participation and Physical education in Taiwan. 14 master theses and 5 journal articles were included to classify the issues of these studies since 2000. It was found that the topics were focus on the relations among sport spaces, sport teams, and career development, politics of identity and coming out strategies. And the literature of homosexual identity, gender stereotype and gender role were regularly employed as theoretical framework. As for methodologies, qualitative methods were adopted more frequently, which included interview, observation and text analysis. |
