Multiball table tennis training was a new method ushered in 1960s by a Chinese table tennis coach who modeled volleyball training method adopted by coaches of Japanese female volleyball teams. It is able to complement the weakness of single-ball training, such as few times of back-and-forth and large gaps. In addition, multiball table tennis training increases training efficiency, providing an effective way to deal with a variety of difficult techniques and tactics. In terms of elective ping pong course in colleges, multiball table tennis training as well as the aid of pitching machines can help students maintain correct techniques of table tennis, get rid of uncertain player assistants' attributes like physical conditions, emotion and routes of ping pong, ensure the fairness and openness of competitions, arouse learning motivation, raise teaching quality and also set a good foundation of lifelong education. |
