Dr. Dewey had indicated that the educators are responsible to stimulate students' interest through experiential learning. To complement the classroom learning, the schools could engage a variety of outdoor teaching methods for students to discover the concepts of self-potential and self-integration. Experiential learning curriculum would help adolescents to enjoy the learning process and develop a positive personality. Dr. Kurt Hahn advocated experiential learning where students could establish the values by actual implementation and reflection process. Through team building, outdoor and adventurous activities, adolescents could explore their self-worth and team building spirit, and build up their leadership skill by courageous self-challenge and decisive decision making. Experiential team could set up their guided activities teaching approach base on teamwork; it enabled students to learn teamwork, problem solving, self-reflection process and sharing of personal feeling in a group environment. |
