Conflict management theory divided from the concepts of conflict resolution and conflict avoiding. Conflicts were regarded as the normal process of the group phenomenons, could either be constructive or destructive. The purpose of this article is to discover how to manage conflict, in order to produce some benefits for the group and its members. Then five main questions are discussed, including the meaning of conflict, the types of conflict, the components of conflict, the theory's bases of conflict management,and the contents of conflict management theory.Three domain of the conflict management theory were discussed:the sources of conflict, the process of conflict, and the goals of conflict management. The application of the theory in different conflict situations (interpersonal conflict, member-group conflict, leader-member conflict, intra-group conflict, and inter-group conflict) were recommended at the final. |
