從習慣領域探析普明禪師〈牧牛圖頌〉

Appreciation of Zen Master Puming’s Ox Herding Pictures and Verses from a Habitual Domain Perspective

本文以習慣領域學說探析普明禪師〈牧牛圖頌〉。普明禪師〈牧牛圖頌〉分別以〈未牧第一〉、〈初調第二〉、〈受制第三〉、〈迴首第四〉、〈馴服第五〉、〈無礙第六〉、〈任運第七〉、〈相忘第八〉、〈獨照第九〉、〈雙泯第十〉等十幅圖、十首詩呈現生命更新蛻變的歷程，本文又分為無明、對制、轉化、任運、返回真如等五個生命轉化階段，並以圖表說明進化過程。每一階段都是修行者針對現有的習慣領域的突破與更新，每一次的突破都是慣性作為的解構與轉化，同時也是意識層面的蛻變。每一次的突破，帶來新的格局與新的生命視野，讓生命變得更柔軟敞開，更能享受當下。

This study explored Zen master Puming’s Ox Herding Pictures and Verses from the perspective of habitual domain theory. Master Puming’s Ox Herding Pictures and Verses demonstrate the process of life transcendence and transformation through 10 illustrations (i.e.， untamed ox， preliminary taming， restrained ox， retrospection， tamed ox， unhindered ox， harmony， loss of the sense of existence， solitude， and the loss of distinction) accompanied by 10 poems. Through the use of pictures， this paper illustrates the progressive process of life transformation in five stages known as ignorance， confrontation， transformation， harmony， and return to innocence. At each stage， the Zen practitioner achieves transcendence in the current habitual domain and renews his life by deconstructing and transforming inertia， with the transformation occurring at the consciousness level. Every chance of transcendence broadens a person’s horizons， turning the life into a more flexible， open， and enjoyable state of being.
