Taiwan is recognized as a multicultural society by the Constitution. However, there are debates of multiculturalism and multicultural education on whether multi-culture is a fact of life or is it an idealistic theme? Whether multicultural education is exclusive or inclusive? Whether there is a link between multicultural education and equality of educational opportunity? And will multiculturalism and multicultural education cause the split of the society? This essay will explore the above arguments and clarify the issues from the views of multicultural education and educational justice, hoping to provide a reference for the implementation of multiculturalism and multicultural education in Taiwan. |
