The purpose of this study is to investigate work values of the teacher education students. By using document analysis, the concept of work values and relative research was explored. The results from document analysis will be integrated in order to construct research instrument. In addition, the validity and reliability will be constructed based on questionnaire survey and to analyze work values of students. The subjects were 752 students in teacher education program from both public and private universities in central Taiwan. The data from questionnaire survey was analyzed based on exploratory factor analysis and six factors were received: achievement/contribute to society, reward/vacation, autonomy, self-growth/life style, social prestige and status, and organizational security. Besides, t-test and one-way ANOVA were adopted to have the analysis of the data. The important findings are the following. Ⅰ.Students' work values on achievement/contribute to society, and self-growth/life style are mid-high level; reward/vacation, autonomy, social prestige and status, and organizational security are medium level; and the whole work vales are mid-high level. Ⅱ.There is a significant difference in students' work values due to the differences among sex and kinds of teacher education program. However, there is no significant difference due to the differences of student's status, and teaching experience. |
