The main purpose of this article is to analyze the development and predicaments of teacher evaluation for professional development. Related concepts and theories of psychological and emotional support are also reviewed here. Moreover, we try to construct a social-emotional support system for the evaluation for teacher’s professional development. The critical types of social-emotional support system are as follows: (1) professional support, (2) personal support, (3) problem-taking support. In each type, there are different elements. The concluding part is my suggestions for the implementation of social-emotional support system by (1) strengthening the function of social-emotional support system, (2) strengthening the support of school administration, (3) developing school-based support system, (4) building up a positive and trustworthy atmosphere at school, and (5) constructing comprehensive support system through empirical research. |
