Due to structural changes stemming from industrial competition, e-SCM (supply chain management) has become a core competitive strategy in the hope that the flows of material and information can be synchronized and information can be shared among the supply chain members in time by managing the supply chain as a single entity. More specifically, an integrated e-SCM system is the objective of joint efforts by members along supply chain in the information industry. However, the implementation of e-SCM involves different business firms which operate independently. Whether the members along the supply chain have the consciousness of mutual benefit and mutual dependence or not will affect the motivation and performance of e-SCM implementation. To expect the members of the supply chain to make commitment to the implementation of SCM, manufacturers should also consider the benefit of their supplier while pursuing their own benefit in implementing e-SCM. Moreover, the performance appraisal of SCM implementation must begin with the identification of performance indicators;therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore the performance indicators of e-SCM from both buyers’ and customers’ viewpoints. In order to provide suggestions to the government and firms in implementing e-SCM, this study tried to identify a set of performance indicators for evaluating e -SCM which are related to the business competitive criteria of cost, quality, time, and flexibility. |
