The purpose of this study was to explore the effectiveness of receiving home telehealth care services and related factors among hypertensive clients. With cross-sectional research design, data were collected using a structured questionnaire. The questionnaire included clients' characteristics, services usage frequency, trustworthiness, services effectiveness (consist of disease self-care and satisfaction). The subjects who used the Taipei Citizen Telehealth Care Services home-based type over three months were recruited. The results showed 75% satisfaction on the received home telehealth care services. The most services used were “telemonitoring physiological conditions” and the least used was “personal health counseling”. Based on stepwised multiple regression analysis, marital status, physical self-monitoring, comorbidities and using telehealth care duration were predictive variables of disease self-care effectiveness, explaining 25% of total variance. The reminding service, caring feedback of customer service center, economic status, trustworthiness and marital status were predictive variables of satisfaction, explaining 41% of total variance. The results of this study provide a valuable reference for professionals in both medical and information technology fields in the further development of telehealth care aiming at achieving the effectiveness of telehealth care and improving the quality of health care. |
