As the first indigenous communication department of the onlycollege for indigenous studies in Taiwan, NDHU’s educationalmission has been specifically focused on the training of futuremedia practitioners who can devote themselves to preservingindigenous languages and culture. So what has been the result ofsuch educational practice after ten years of implementation? Havethere been conflicts behind the process of ethnic communicationeducation and the requirements of academic professionalism? As acase study, this research aims to retrospectively examine suchexperiences and tries to predict the new directions for futureindigenous communication education. |
