Recently, the numbers of community colleges of Taiwan have been growing rapidly. Their curricula fall into three categories: academic, civil group activity, and living skills courses. Certain staff and educators in community colleges did not clearly understand the core ideals of community colleges and faced difficulties or conflicts when they planned their curricula programs. The purpose of this research was to explore the reality and the paradoxes of the curriculum planning of community colleges in Taiwan. Based on adult education theories, issues regarding community colleges’ curriculum planning, design, implementation, and evaluation were discussed. Conclusions and suggestions were also proposed to improve the curriculum planning of community colleges in Taiwan. |
