This paper is to explore the content of training program for early childhood beginning directors. The training is mandated by early childhood education law to provide early childhood program directors the legal qualification . Questionnaires and focus group's interviews were used to collect data from 979 ece workers', center directors, government administrators, and teacher trainers. There are 5 main findings:
1. They supported leadership program to include 4 areas and 32 subjects. 2. The government needs to play a role to control the program quality. 3. Teachers and directors agreed 180 training hours can help an experienced teacher to survive in first director's year. 4. The program's pedagogical design includes multiple hands-on experiences , case study, and model study. 5. Appropriate instructors of the training program should be able to integrate theory and practices of the early childhood education. Four suggestions will help university to design a better training program for ece directors. |
