Objective:This study aims to analyze the technical performance of Luo Jialing, an athlete in the women’s 57kg category, during the 2022 World Taekwondo Championships. Methods:By employing a video recording system and observational recording method, this study conducted a quantitative analysis of scoring frequency, attack frequency, scoring techniques, defensive errors, and other performance metrics. These include the timing of attacks, the dominant attacking foot or hand, techniques, methods, target areas, footwork, and movements, with results expressed as frequency distribution percentages. Results:The primary offensive strategy observed was proactive attacks, which were more frequent than reactive ones. The main attacking technique involved proactive use of the right front leg, with the left rear leg serving as a secondary option. The preferred fighting stance was right-forward and left-backward.Conclusions:Timing of Attacks: Proactive attack strategies were dominant, with reactive attack strategies as a supplement.Dominant Attacking Foot: The right front leg was the primary attacking foot.Fighting Stance: The right-forward, left-backward stance was predominantly used.Primary Scoring Method: The right front leg was the main scoring tool, while the left rear leg played a supporting role.Attack Success Rate: Proactive attacks using the left front leg had the highest success rate, followed by reactive attacks using the right rear leg.Recommendations:Attack Strategy: Currently, Luo Jialing primarily adopts a right-forward, left-backward stance and uses the right front leg as the main scoring technique. However, no hand strikes were observed. It is recommended to incorporate hand attacks and defensive techniques to enhance the effectiveness of proactive and powerful offensive strategies.Versatility in Attack Patterns: Strengthen the ability to attack from a left-forward, right-backward stance and improve the attacking capabilities of the right rear leg and left front leg. This would foster a more diverse and multidimensional offensive strategy, reducing the risk of being tactically constrained and unable to score effectively
