Leon Green is a member of the legal realist group and is well-known for torts. Green’s experience is unique, he passes the bar exam in his law school study, he joins in the Law School of the University of Texas after legal practice for many years. Within ten years Green establishes its reputation in the academic world. As a Realist, Green does well in facts analysis beyond the paper rules, he innovates the torts cases books and contributes to the developments of Legal Realism. Regarding the confusing question of proximate cause he points out the false contention of the courts and publishes The Rationale of Proximate Cause which becomes a classic within short time. His Judge and Jury examines torts from the viewpoint of functions of the judges and the jury which is very unique. The writings of Green have great impacts on torts theory and practice in the United States. Studies on Green will help to illuminate innovation of torts theory and legal education reforms. |
