Pandemic prevention–related changes to daily work routines are likely to lead to healthcare provider burnout. Errors as a result of burnout affect quality of care, patient safety, and work satisfaction. To solve this problem, healthcare executives should create an environment in which employees gain satisfaction from their work. We suggest for WalkRounds activities (e.g., a non-stakeholder, non-unit supervisor personally visiting the site) to be used to better understand the issues staff are facing with regards to patient safety and to allow staff to share their opinions and advice. Staff are more likely to express their needs and opinions through face-to-face communication. WalkRounds activities can improve quality and patient safety in healthcare organizations.
