The purpose of this case study was to investigate the problem solving performance of clock-hand problems intended for a gifted subject. Based on his solution and drawing presentation, further interviews were conducted to capture how he thought. Our close observations indicated that the subject owned so excellent problem translation ability tomake complex problems to be simple. The equations he constructed also revealed that his potentials in problem integration were exceedingly apparent. Once the solutions were derived from those equations, the gifted subject employed well his monitor ability to check the reasonable answers as an indictor of his understanding. |
