This article aimed to introduce the psychodrama training in Taiwan from 2002 to 2019, which were provided by two American psychodrama trainers, Drs. Pamela & Rory Remer. The related cultural encounters being interacted then are also delineated together with local trainees through various indigenization of psychodrama, as well as the subsequent impacts being made. Data collected include interviews with written feedback and related correspondence. All the transcripts taken from the interview recordings were further analyzed, presented an interwoven dialogues to guide the readers into the rich contexts. First, it described the Remers’ initial visits to Taiwan, accompanied with curiosity and expectation from the locals, such as: (1) Meeting Drs. Pam and Rory Remer; (2) Cultural impacts in their daily life; and (3) Impacts on their professional aspect. Next, serveral mutual influences made from the interpersonal interactions, like: (1) Drs. Pam and Rory Remer in the trainees’ eyes; (2) The highly competent professionalism they demonstrated; (3) All trainings conducted with both theory and practice emphasized; (4) Their valuing culture in raising people’s awareness, awaking senses, and showing respect; (5) Their unique techniques; and (6) The highlights of their training in Taiwan. Finally, their blissful wishes and prospect on psychodrama in Taiwan. As a result, many members in Taiwan psychodrama community have been benefited by their contribution and devotion to this field, especially for those in Taiwan, who continue to develop their career by following the wishes and visions offered by Drs. Pam and Rory Remer. |
