根據世界衛生組織WHO的報告指出，心血管疾病CVD是全球死亡的第一大原因，估計每年會奪走至少1,800萬人的生命。包括最近的Covid-19的研究也指出，患病者未來出現心肌炎或心臟的疾病會比一般人機率還高。所以對於高危險群或亞健康型的病患，當發生突發性心律不整而導致心跳停止的個案，如果在幾分鐘內給予適當的電擊或CPR急救，則可以救回的成功率將可達80%以上。但每延遲一分鐘施救，則成功救回機率將遞減5～8%。以急性心肌梗塞患者為例，當發病時，常常會因為血壓阻塞與降低，導致病患突然昏倒，此時應先撥打緊急救護電話，若手邊即有我們所開發的可攜式AED緊急監控裝置與使用正確的CPR教學指引來按壓急救，將可大幅提高病患後續在送醫後的存活機率。
