本研究は『好色一代男』に描かれた旅行の様相と意義を通して、作品の主題と旅行の蓋然性を明らかにするところに目的を置いたものである。研究の結果、「好色一代男」の4巻までにて、敢えて世之介を旅行させる西鶴の意図が次のように理解出来た。ます、世之介の旅行を通じて京や大坂のような大都市以外の地方の劣悪な経済状況が浮かび上がった。作品には世之介が旅行を通して出会う地方の男女が売春に走る現実が描かれ、大都市とは対照的な地方の現実が立体的に浮かび上がることが出来たと見受けられた。次に、地方の風景や風習の描写により、多様な生業の紹介が可能であったことも作中に旅行を設定した効果であった。そして、表立った生業とは関係なく地方の人々が性愛を利用する姿も如実に映し出されていた。したがって、『好色一代男』に描かれた旅行は、大都市と対比される地方の人々と彼らの現実を反映するための設定であったと結論づけられる。 The purpose of this research is to clarify the theme of the work and the probability of the trip through the aspects and significance of the travel depicted in Koushoku Ichidai Otoko. As a result of my research, I was able to understand Saikaku's intention in having Yonosuke travel up to the fourth volume of Koushoku Ichidai Otoko as follows. First, Yonosuke's travels brought to light the poor economic conditions of rural areas outside of major cities. Through his travels, he was able to depict the reality of rural areas where both men and women turn to prostitution, and it seems that he was able to bring to light a three-dimensional reality that contrasts with that of big cities. Second, the depiction of local landscapes and customs made it possible to introduce a variety of livelihoods. Furthermore, apart from these obvious livelihoods, we were able to vividly see how people in rural areas utilize sexual love. Therefore, it can be concluded that the trip depicted in Koushoku Ichidai Otoko was able to reflect local people and reality in contrast to large cities. |
