Based on the positive psychology theory, the purpose of this study is to explore the effects of social support and self-esteem on subject well-being. There are five classes selected from each school of schools in northern, central, and southern Taiwan, respectively. The valid participants sums up to 946 totally. The instruments used in the study included the Social Support Scale, Self-esteem Scale, and Subject Well-being Scale. The collected data were analyzed by Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results showed that: (1) Social support had direct effect on self-esteem, and subject well-being. (2) Self-esteem had direct effect on subject well-being. (3) Social support had indirect influence on subject well-being through self-esteem. Finally, detail results and suggestions for further research and implementation were discussed. |
