Landscape is not just a physical space, but a carrier of historical memory and cultural capital. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, Chen Menglin (1664-1739) came to Taiwan to compile the 'Zhuluo County Chronicle', in which he put forward the theory of 'The six attractions in Zhuluo County '. In addition, he created poems and prose works such as 'Mango Garden', 'Beixiang Lake Viewing Lotus in Double Ninth Festival ', 'Jade Mountain Poem' and 'Seeing The Jade Mountain ' to explain the cultural value of the three scenic spots: 'Mango Garden', 'Beixiang Lake 'and 'Jade Mountain'. Through the scraping and rewriting of the landscape, value addition and cultural connection, Chen Menglin successfully placed the context of Han culture into these landscapes in his works, and attached more to the landscape as the historical memory of later generations, or the use of cultural capital. |
