This paper takes up the subject of Japanese folktales and think about how we should approach them from the view of lexicology and how the results can be positioned. In addition to reviewing the current status of the study, we look forward to future topics through literature review. The results can be summarized as follows. 1. In examining the lexical characteristics of Japanese folktales, we can approach the issue from the view of the duality of vocabulary. 2. Discussing the vocabulary in Japanese folktales from the view of duality of vocabulary will lead to the clarification of the nature of Japanese vocabulary, which will be helpful when teaching folktales in Japanese language education. 3. Exploring the characteristics in Japanese folktales will serve as a bridge to communicate with other research areas. 4. Careful consideration must be given when selecting Japanese folktales for researching. 5. The Japanese Folktales Collections reflect the historical and ethnic characteristics from the late modern times to early Meiji periods, and their part-of-speech structure is similar to that of the children vocabulary in modern Japanese. |
