Laparoscopic surgery provides benefits including reduced postoperative wound pain, faster recovery, and shorter hospital stays. However, the use of laparoscopic surgery for resection or ovarian cancer appears to be limited because not easy for full exploration of abdominal cavity to search tumor implants. It is also associated with increased risk of ovarian cyst rupture which causes tumor seeding. Therefore, management of unexpected ovarian malignancy during operation should be fully explained and discussed with the patient. We report a case of 74-year-old woman who was incidentally diagnosed with ovarian cancer during laparoscopic surgery and final pathology reprot revealed ovarian granulosa cell tumor. Therefore, we systemically reviewed the clinical case and options of treatment. |
