Basing on the National Library's "Taiwan Master and Doctoral Dissertation Value Added System", this article intends to research the dissertations related to Kinmen. There were more than 1,300 dissertations. At first, the author wants to conduct an analysis of academic disciplines and academic categories, and analyze the historical background and motivation of the schools and research institutes that produced these theses. Secondly, discussing the relationship among Kinmen studies, Kinmen academics and Kinmen dissertations. In the end, offering some suggestions for the study, hoping the local residents will pay more attention to the current events that affect modern world, and not blindly remember the past. Kinmen Studies must become an accepted discipline, a so-called "learning". In addition to introducing interdisciplinary research methods, it must also go international and expand local history research from a macro perspective. Although the dissertation is definitely academic, I personally believe that there is no need to impose the term "academic" on Kinmen Studies. The true value of Kinmen Studies is more of non-academic. |
