The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the organizational support climate, trait gratitude and helping behavior of elementary school teachers. This study adopts a survey research method which comprised of three questionnaires such as: “Gratitude Questionnaire,” “School Organizational Climate scale,” and “Helping Behavior Scale.” Participants were 227 elementary school teachers selected from elementary school in Taiwan. The collected data were analyzed by the structural equation model (SEM) used for the test of the structural model after the reliability and validity analysis. Based on the empirical results, the findings of the research are shown as following: (1) Teacher’s trait gratitude could not significantly predict teachers’ helping behavior. (2) Teacher’s trait gratitude could significantly and positively predict the organizational support climate. (3) Teachers’ perception of the organizational support climate could significantly and positively predict teachers’ helping behavior, and the organizational support climate plays the full mediator role for the positive impact from teacher’s trait gratitude to teachers’ helping behavior. Finally, based on the findings of the research, the research provides conclusions and suggestions to practitioners and subsequent researchers. |
