Culture is the soul and blood of a nation, and the spiritual memory and spiritual home of a nation. It embodies the identity and belonging of the nation, and reflects the vitality and cohesion of the nation. Compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are rooted in our common blood and spirit, rooted in our common history and culture. This shows us that the blood of compatriots on both sides of the strait is thicker than water, and enhancing cultural identity is an important aspect of promoting the peaceful development of cross-strait relations. Located on the west coast of the Taiwan Strait, Fujian has an innate advantage in obtaining better cultural identity across the strait. This is not only geographically separated by a sea, but also has a blood thicker than water. Especially in southern Fujian, the compatriots on both sides of the strait separated by a water have the same language, similar customs, close bloodlines, and close relationships. As they are walking on the road of cross-strait integration, these kinships are more conducive to gaining cultural identity. It can be said that the existence of Minnan culture is a well-deserved mainstay on the road to obtain cultural identity. |
