"Tourism sector is easily affected by global security issues and risks. Currently, while the global economy and people’s daily life are hard hit by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, it is important to understand Taiwanese’s intention to travel abroad. According to the past studies, we generalized that travel risks include infectious disease risk and travel quality risk. Furthermore, we developed“Impact Scale of How Travel Risk Influences Intention of Travel Abroad during COVID-19”as a research tool, which was confirmed having reliability and validity as expected after pre-testing. Online questionnaire was carried out on Google from March to April 2020. 389 official samples were collected. The valid rate is about 95.9%. The structural equation model(SEM) hypothesis was verified by AMOS 24.0. The results reveal: (1) Self-imposed epidemic risk has a significant negative impact on post-pandemic travel intentions. (2) Travel quality risk has a significant positive impact on post-pandemic travel intentions. (3) Pre-pandemic travel intentions have a significant impact on post-pandemic travel intentions. In the end, we would like to offer suggestions about tourism policy for the future when the epidemic slows down and the tourism recovers." |
